Halloween Costumes I Love But Won't Be Using This Year

If there is one thing you need to know about me it’s that I am absolutely and completely obsessed with Halloween. I love the fall time and all that comes with it: the cold weather, the rain, pumpkins, leaves, and most importantly costumes. I have already found and purchased my Halloween costumes for this year, however, there are a few Halloween costumes that I am in love with that I will not be using. So, please use this however you want. I will link everything you need for the costumes if you really like it and wanna do it for yourself. Happy fall and happy Halloween!

Witch

While a witch is an iconic symbol of Halloween, it can also be a cute, classy, and breathtaking costume to execute. I would prefer an all black outfit and hat, but feel free to make it match your personality. This black hat is on amazon for only $2.88! That is a victory in my book. It also means you can spend more on the actual costume! This black bodycon dress from SHEIN is super cute with the form-fitting shape, but if you want to spend more you can always opt for this black ruched mini dress from Fashion Nova. If you wanna add a little more you could buy this witch’s broom or these black sheer gloves both from Amazon.

Pirate

To be quite honest with you, I might still try and pull this one off at the last minute. BUT for now it’s on this list. I think the pirate costume can be super versatile and can easily fit your needs for the night. If you live somewhere warm you can opt for shorter sleeves and skirts, but if you live somewhere colder it’s easy to layer and wear longer sleeves. The obvious accessories include a pirate hat and sword. Most people go for a white flowy top or dress and a short black skirt. I found this amazing corset dress that I am DYING to see on someone! Lara Croft - Tomb Raider

This costume has been on my list forever and I never end up choosing it, but I love the Tomb Raider movies and Angelina Jolie… well she’s hot. The outfit is actually very simple and can even be thrifted, but I would go for a dark green tank and some black shorts. Accessories can include a leg holster and some fake weapons to go with it. Makeup for this outfit is your best accessory. I would use a burnt orange and brown eyeshadow mixture to make scars on the face and use more of the brown shadow to look like dirt splotches on your arms and legs. Hair is self explanatory: two french braids.

Jennifer’s Body - Megan Fox

Jennifer’s Body is one of my favorite horror comedy movies and who wouldn’t want to be Megan Fox for a night? I had a hard time coming up with a costume for this one, but I know that DollsKill has a great Jennifer’s Body cheerleading costume that also is available in plus sizes. For shoes I would just pair white Nike’s and maybe some yellow pompoms to add to the accessories. Fake blood is a must for this costume, especially dripping from the mouth. But don’t be afraid to get it on the outfit as well!

Purger (But make it your own)

For the longest time I wanted to try my shot at the purge costume, but it seemed so overdone and has been used by everyone that I just didn’t take to it. However, I have thought of a way to make it different from everyone else. Lot of people just put on a jabbawockeez mask and call it good, but if you've seen the movies or TV series, you've probably noticed the abundance of costumes throughout. Yes, a lot of people are wearing masks to appear scary or hide their identity. However, there are so many more creative ways to deliver and insane purge costume. You could take inspiration from Purge: Election Year and dress up as a founding father or the statue of liberty. You could even play off of different horror movies like The Strangers and wear something else to cover your face like a burlap sack used by one of the strangers. For outfits you could easily go thrifting and find a wedding dress, leather jacket, mini skirts, etc. Pick a theme, choose a character, or just make it your own.
