25 Journal Prompts for Better Journaling

Emma Jensen

In my first blog post, I talked about how journaling can help with anxiety. I love to journal whenever I get the chance, and I highly suggest trying it if you haven’t already. However, there are some nights when I don’t want to write about what happened that day and I want something that can actually get me thinking. I made a list of some of my favorite journal prompts that I have used or I’m wanting to try! Hopefully, this helps you dive into journaling!

What event in your life has made you a better person?

What are your thoughts on soulmates?

Write a letter to someone you want to apologize to.

Make a list of everything you are currently grateful for.

What color would describe your mood today?

What’s something that brings you joy?

What are 3 things you would bring on a deserted island?

Describe your perfect day.

Is there anything you wish you could change right now?

If you could make one rule that everyone had to follow, what would it be?

Describe yourself in 3 words? Explain why you chose those words.

When was the last time you cried?

When was the last time you laughed?

Write a letter to your past self.

Write a letter to your future self.

Where do you want to be 10 years from now?

Write down three goals you want to complete by the end of this year.
